March 31 - April 2, 2017 - 58th Annual Arabian & Half Arabian Horse Show

The Golden Gate Arabian Horse Association is proud to present our 58th Annual Arabian and Half-Arabian Show and extend an invitation to the public to come watch some amazing horses perform and compete in Halter, English, Hunter, Western, Reining, Trail and Native Costume classes, presented by professional trainers and amateurs. The Arabian horse holds the distinction of being the oldest known breed of riding horse and virtually every other breed can trace their blood stock back to an Arabian. For thousands of years these noble creatures lived among the desert tribes of the Arabian Peninsula, bred by Bedouins as war mounts for their ability to travel over vast distances with little water and with their large lung capacity they are the undisputed endurance horse. Known also as the family horse, Arabians were highly cherished and lived in their owners tents. Today, the Arabian horse is referred to as “Living Art” beloved and admired by people around the world for their incredible energy, intelligence and gentle disposition. Come see why these horses are not only beautiful but talented too. Special and exciting events on Saturday evening, April 2nd include a Pro-Am class (the same horse is entered into this class and ridden once by a professional trainer and once by an amateur). The winner will be presented $500. Additionally, a Liberty class will show off the playfulness and majesty of individual horses as they are turned out into the ring without a rider or handler. A $500 prize for this class will also be awarded. Come meet an Arabian horse and prepare to fall in love!
