April 23 & 24, 2016 - Wine Country Comic Con

WCCC is the premier comic and pop culture festival and convention meant to celebrate Comics, Anime, Animation, Cosplay a

Welcome to the First Annual Wine Country Comic Con! WCCC 2016 is an epic pop culture and comic convention presenting the latest and greatest from the world of comics, movies, art, sci-fi, television, toys, anime, manga, fantasy, film, video games, cosplay and more. The Show Floor will be packed with exhibitors and artists. Every dollar the Comic Convention earns will be donated to a new Early Learning Center for children on the Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This is a “Made in Heaven” way to raise funds for a program that will bring desperately needed assistance to families trying to help a child with ASD. Superheroes and children are made for each other. So whether you’re a superhero, villain, monster, zombie, robot, alien, exhibitor, journalist, ASD parent/grandparent/aunt/uncle, physician, helping professional, or anyone else who loves comics and/or wants to help families coping with ASD, we look forward to seeing you at the Wine Country Comic Con. Our Superheroic Mission Our mission is to harness the thrills and enthusiasm of the Superhero world to raise the funds needed to create and support an Early Learning Center for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The Early Learning Center will provide help to families that can't afford to pay for private classes/professional assistance for young childrenwith ASD (or being tested for ASD) in its many forms, including delays in walking, talking, and a range of other developmental concerns and behavior problems. The Early Learning Center program would make a huge difference in the life of these kids and their families. It goes without saying that these children need help, and it’s a well-established fact that the earlier such help is provided, the better the results are. ASD kids who get early help are far more likely to overcome their challenges and lead normal lives throughout childhood and as adults. Unfortunately, unless families can afford to pay for such help privately – and for a parent to take time off work (or quit their job!) so they can take the child to classes or therapy sessions – such help won’t begin until the child begins school at age 5.Priceless years will be lost! That’s where the Early Learning Center comes in. It will serve children ages 2 to 4 with a program that runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday throughFriday. The center will not only provide programs for kids– and relief for parents who desperately want to help their child but can’t afford to quit work – it will also be a place where parents can get trainingand find information about other community resources. A place for parents to get help! This pilot project – the Comic Con as a fundraiser for an Early Learning Center – could be easily replicated in other cities.
