Don't miss this thrilling and fun event that the whole family will enjoy! Catch the stat's top up-and-coming motorcycle racing talent as they tear up the Sonoma County Fair track on August 2rd! Northern California is home to many of the premier professional motorcycle racers in the country – and now is your chance to watch them in action before they become big stars! The racing will be organized by Circle Bell Motorsports, producers of the historic AMA Pro Sacramento and Santa Rosa Miles, and the North Bay Motorcycle Club of Santa Rosa. The racers will do battle on a wide range of motorcycles and skill levels.
The youngest of the racers are 4-8 years old, competing on 50cc machines known as Pee Wees. Mini cycles will include 65cc and 85cc machines, with riders 9-15 years in age. Vintage classes will bring motorcycles from years 1972 and earlier with riders that may be up to 60 years of age. The fastest riders of the night will be aboard 450cc machines, the bike of choice for today’s top level Short Track racers. Opening ceremonies and main event racing will kick off at 7pm. Tickets are available and range from $8 to $15. Interested racers can find more information at www.CircleBellMotorsports.com.
Please Note: These shows require an event ticket in addition to Fair Admission. (ALL persons 2 and older require a ticket for these concerts and shows in addition to Fair admission. Children 6 and under are admitted to the Fair free every day.)
Santa Rosa Mile --- September 2014 (TBA)
You won't want to miss the Santa Rosa Mile, held at the Sonoma County Fair's own Wine Country Race Track. That's right, the ponies won't be the ones rushing for the finish line. These are bold and brave motorcylce racers and they won't let off the throttle until the very end. The festivities usually include short-track races Friday and Saturday in the Chris Beck Arena, an art-and-wine festival Saturday afternoon and the Grand Marshals Dinner that evening, and Grand National heat races and main events Sunday afternoon. 2014 events to be announced soon. Local race fans may be more accustomed to the AMA SuperBike series, but flat-track racing is unpredictable. The bikes can reach 120 mph on a straightaway at a mile oval, and they scream into diagonal slides in the corners. AMA races have air-cushion barriers around the perimeter of the track, and hay bales to soften the corners.
