  • Food For Haiti Monday – Friday only Helm & Sons is collecting food for earthquake victims in Haiti. Because the food collected at this drive has to be shipped to Haiti, we have specific requirements for donations. Here are details for the Food For Haiti Program:
We can only accept and ship:
       • Canned non-perishables
       • Full-sized items, not singles or mini-cans
       • Only items with a current "Best By" date

    We cannot accept:
       • Expired foods (past "Best By" date)
       • Boxed foods
       • Plastic or glass containers
       • Dented or rusty cans
       • Alcoholic beverages of any kind
       • Soft packages, such as bags of rice, etc., as they are not pest-resistant

The Food for Haiti Program offers a single wristband for a FULL standard grocery bag of current canned goods, which is approximately 24 cans OR a single ride for 2 current canned items. The program is offered Monday - Friday, but Helm & Sons reserves the right to limit quantities and to terminate the programs when the container, shipping and packaging limits are met. Food for the program should be taken to the Helm & Sons Carnival Customer Service booth on the Carnival Lot just inside the Brookwood Gate. Expired cans and items will be disposed of; other non-qualifying items will be either returned to the customer or offered to a local food bank.
Thank you for your contributions and your understanding of the special requirements for this international program.

Sonoma County Fair

July 27 - Aug. 8, 2010

Thank you so much for the work you’ve done to make this year’s fair a great time. We had fun all day including horseracing, Ibleto’s (pasta), Dixieland parade, animals, chickens, baby goats, cows, Clo’s ice cream, and a big dill pickle.
Janie Roberts

Thank you! The Derby Dog Dash was the most fun I’ve had since the Harvest Fair last year. Splash Dogs was also great, and the AcroCats were a class act.
Karin

We are new to the community so this is our first time at the fair. I can honestly say this is the best fair we've been to, and we've been to fairs from San Diego to Wisconsin!

Kudos to all the fair staff for a great fair--I came three times!

It was a great...I didn't milk a cow but I did get my Moms apple pie...and had a blast like always

We spent four annual summer vacations in Sonoma County during those years, visiting the fair each time, and remember those trips with much fondness. We would still be making the annual trek if we still lived in Las Vegas, NV, but we have since moved to Florida.
Thanks!
